“Stampin’” Tom Connors
Stompin’ Tom Connors may be headed towards your mailbox this summer, located on the upper right corner of your mail. That’s right, a postage stamp in Tom’s honour, released as part of the “Canadian Recording Artists” series from Canada Post.
Here’s what Canada Post says about this particular release:
Beyond Canadian borders, when you hear a Stompin Tom record, you can’t wait to get back home. A staunch supporter of Canada, this singer-songwriter, fiddler and guitarist has spent most of his live capturing our heritage in song.
“I am delighted, humbled and overwhelmed at this wonderful recognition that Canada Post, and indeed all Canadians, have given me with this great honour.”
Before being discovered in Timmins, Ontario, Charles Thomas “Stompin’ Tom” Connors spent many years travelling across the country, working and writing songs along the way. Today, 300 songs and 50 albums into his career, Connors remains mindful and proud of his humble roots.

This summer our beloved Canadian treasure Stompin’ Tom Connors adds another major accolade to his long list of honours with the release of his very own Canadian Postage Stamp, which he calls his “Stamp of Approval.” In celebration of this and with the success of his most recent studio album The Ballad of Stompin’ Tom, he has decided to hit the road as a special thank you to his fans.
