More than 700,000 students from over 2,000 schools in every province and territory across Canada are today celebrating the sixth annual MusicMonday – a nation-wide, simultaneous concert to celebrate the importance of music in our lives – and especially in our schools. Students and teachers from coast-to-coast will take their music programs outdoors into their communities and perform the same song at the exact same time, uniting the entire country.
For the second year, the theme song for Music Monday is “Sing Sing,” written by multi Juno-award winning Canadian artist, Serena Ryder.
TORONTO – April 22, 2009 – SIRIUS Canada, the country’s leading satellite radio company, today announced it will broadcast a recent live sold-out performance by Serena Ryder as a part of its ongoing SIRIUS Canadian Concert Series. Winner of the 2008 Juno Award for Best New Artist and the 2009 Juno Award for Adult Alternative Album of the Year, Ryder is currently on tour in the U.S. and Canada in support of her latest Gold album, is it o.k. The broadcast will air on SIRIUS’ 100% Canadian rock channel, Iceberg 85.
