Last night Karl uploaded the full length video to his YouTube channel, and it’s really catching on! Check out all the honors it’s received - just today!:
“Africa”, “Carrera”, “Yalla Habibi” – all three songs have become monster hits for Lebanese-Canadian singer/songwriter Karl Wolf. Now, Karl is ready to build on this success with his next single “Hurting” which is being delivered to radio stations across the country this week. “Hurting” shows a whole new, serious side of Karl: it’s a powerful song that’s very close to his heart and shows signs of being another out of the box smash. Alberta-turned-international rock gods Nickelback and R&B’s new northern light Danny Fernandes lead the way with five nods each as the 2009 MMVAs nominations were announced today. Vancouver punk poppers Marianas Trench follow closely with four. Co-hosted by the larger-than-life, heart-stopping trio known as the Jonas Brothers, the 2009 MMVAs honour the coolest, sexiest, and craziest Canadian videos of the year. The countdown to the 2009 MMVAs is on and MuchMusic needs fans to help put the highly-coveted MMVAs statues in the hands of deserving nominees. The 2009 MMVAs UR FAVE Awards (formerly People’s Choice Awards) give fans the power to determine the winners in three award categories: UR FAVE New Artist/Group, UR FAVE Video and UR FAVE International Video.
Fans can vote now for the 2009 MMVAs UR FAVE Award nominees by hitting up muchmusic.com or by texting MMVA to 299299. They can also log on to the website to check out all of the nominated videos, plus shop for downloads and ringtones from all the nominees.
Earlier this month fans flocked to muchmusic.com to cast more than 70,000 votes that added Karl Wolf, Simple Plan, and Britney Spears as Wildcard nominees to the 2009 MMVAs UR FAVE Award categories.
