Jennette McCurdy donates big to charity
If you are not a teen girl the chances of you knowing the name Jennette McCurdy are slim, but it wont stay that way for long. McCurdy, best known for her role on the hit Nickelodeon show iCarly, is making her way into the country music scene. Her first single and music video titled “Generation Love”, which was produced by Jay DeMarcus of Rascal Flatts, is currently available on iTunes and McCurdy’s first album is scheduled for a Fall release.

McCurdy has teamed up with St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital to raise $100,000 through a six-week cross-country mall tour. The performance is free, however McCurdy offered her fans a package with a 2-song CD and a personally autograph for $10, with all proceeds going to St. Jude. McCurdy was suprised to know that she surpassed her goal of $100,000 by close to $40,000.

Capitol Records Nashville recording artist and star of Nickelodeon’s iCarly, Jennette McCurdy announced today that “Not That Far Away” will be the first single from her upcoming debut album. Jennette asked her fans to help pick the first single through a poll on AOL’s The Boot featuring six snippets of songs from her album.
