If you’re reading this, it probably means you aren’t in Denmark to see Coldplay headline the the Roskilde Festival this weekend either.  Don’t be too bummed out though, there are lots of Coldplay treats for fans worldwide this weekend!

On Sunday, Coldplay are doing a live blog from backstage at the Roskilde Festival!  They’ll be posting behind-the-scenes photo and video updates as they happen.  Go to Coldplay.com to join in the fun!  You can also enter to win a signed something-or-other from the band by simply sending your name and mailing address to competitions@coldplay.com.

Crank Up The Volume Canada: The 2009 MMVAs Nominations Are In!

Alberta-turned-international rock gods Nickelback and R&B’s new northern light Danny Fernandes lead the way with five nods each as the 2009 MMVAs nominations were announced today. Vancouver punk poppers Marianas Trench follow closely with four. Co-hosted by the larger-than-life, heart-stopping trio known as the Jonas Brothers, the 2009 MMVAs honour the coolest, sexiest, and craziest Canadian videos of the year. The show airs live Sunday, June 21 at 9 p.m. ET, exclusively on MuchMusic. The MMVAs 09 RED CARPET SPECIAL kicks off the A-List action at 8 p.m. ET. (more…)

Coldplay’s Free live album available now + Howling Bells interview on Coldplay.com

Coldplay is thanking fans with free copies their new live album, LeftRightLeftRightLeft,  - click here to download your copy from Coldplay.com now. Today is also the day of the band’s first North American tour date, in West Palm Beach, where the first copies of the LRLRL CD will be given away.

The CD will then be handed out to all fans at every remaining Coldplay live shows in 2009 (apart from Festival shows). The free download will also be available from Coldplay.com until the band play their final 2009 show. We hope you like it - “this is a thank you to all fans”, Coldplay.

Coldplay Giving Away Live CD

Coldplay will be giving away an exclusive live CD, titled LeftRightLeftRightLeft to all fans attending the Viva La Vida summer tour beginning May 15, the first date of the band’s North American tour and at every remaining live show in 2009.  The CD will also be available as a free download during the same time period through their website www.coldplay.com.

“Playing live is what we love,” say Coldplay. “This album is a thank you to our fans – the people who give us a reason to do it and make it happen.”

The current hit single/video from the seven-time GRAMMY® and two-time JUNO Award winners is “Life In Technicolor ii,” off of the Viva La Vida - Prospekt’s March edition.  Coldplay have most recently been nominated for three awards at this year’s Ivor Novello Awards, the prestigious event which honours “excellence in British music writing.”  The band are up for Most Performed Work and Best Selling British Song, both for “Viva La Vida,” as well as the Album Award for Viva La Vida or Death And All His Friends. Winners of the JUNO AWARDS

EMI Music Canada + our Associated Labels had a very exciting and successful JUNO Awards weekend in Vancouver taking home a very impressive 13 out of 39 Awards!

Along with all the great wins - there were also amazing performances on the broadcast from Nickelback (more pyro then ever!!), Serena Ryder and The Stills.
