HOT OFF THE PRESS:
JIMMY RANKIN WINS TWO 2004 EAST COAST MUSIC AWARDS! HANDMADE TOUR STARTS FEBRUARY 21ST

On Sunday, February 15, at the 2004 East Coast Music Association Award Ceremony in St. John's, Jimmy Rankin was presented with two ECMA Awards including Male Artist of the Year and Roots/Traditional Recording of the Year for his second solo album Handmade. This follows the recent announcement of Handmade's 2004 Juno nomination for Album Design of the Year.

As lead singer, guitarist and principle songwriter for the Rankins, Jimmy Rankin was the engine that powered the group into Canadian hearts. Jimmy embarked on his solo career with 2001's critically lauded Song Dog. Recorded in Toronto at Tattoo Music studios, Jimmy and producer Tim Thorney carved out the delicately-crafted Handmade. Like its predecessor, Jimmy's second solo offering treads its own singular path along roots-rock's winding back roads.

Watch for Jimmy's upcoming tour, starting on February 21. Jimmy will tour Atlantic Canada through March 11, when he will continue the tour heading west from Manitoba to British Columbia. Ontario dates will be announced for the spring.

The Atlantic Canada tour dates are listed here:

February 21 / Pt. Hawkesbury, NS / SAERC
February 22 / Liverpool, NS / Astor Theatre
February 26 / Fredericton, NB / Festival Theatre
February 27 / Wolfville, NS / Festival Theatre
