Also, today Morning Parade launch a competition in partnership with cutting-edge creative community, Talenthouse, to create a brand new music video for the band’s future single “Headlights.”

The band are inviting artists to create their own music videos for “Headlights” before submitting them for a public and band vote. The winning submission, chosen by the band and announced on April 2, will become the official music video for the single and will be featured and promoted on MUZU, YouTube, VEVO, Daily Motion and other key digital platforms. In addition, the winner will receive $1000.

A ‘People’s Choice’ winner will also be selected via a public vote across the band’s social networks and will win a Canon Digital Camera and an EMI merchandise bag.

The mini-tour will give North American audiences a preview of the songs featured on Sandé’s upcoming debut album, Our Version Of Events, which will be released by Capitol Records in June. The album — which includes the U.K. singles “Heaven,” “Daddy” and “Next To Me”— reveals Sandé to be an uncompromising creative force who draws inspiration from the likes of Nina Simone, Joni Mitchell, and Lauryn Hill, and combines it with an instinctive feel for pop songwrtiting, making her a radio favourite in the UK. The result is a contemporary-yet-timeless album and a heady soundscape into which “Her remarkable voice is put centre-stage from the outset”  as the UK’s Q magazine recently noted, adding “She’s made an album that deserves to linger in the limelight – passionate, powerful and possessed of real star quality.”

Sandé has already been announced the winner of the coveted Critics Choice Award at the Brit Awards for 2012 (recent winners include Adele and Florence + the Machine) and, in an unprecedented twist, the Brits have also nominated her as Breakthrough British Artist. The Awards will be given out on Feb 21^st in London soon after the album’s Feb 13^th UK release. Besides the industry embrace, critical acclaim and radio success she’s already received in the UK, her fellow artists are also lining up. Early Sandé admirers include Coldplay and Alicia Keys, both of whom recently tapped her as an opening act. Keys was so impressed that she has been writing with Sandé for her next album and co-wrote and produced the track “Hope” on Our Version of Events. Finally Adele was moved to Tweet “How incredible is she” upon seeing Sandé’s performance on Later…with Jools Holland.

Adventures In Your Own Backyard, the fourth full-length effort from Patrick Watson, was recorded in Montreal after a grueling five-year run that saw Patrick and his band (bassist Mishka Stein bass, guitarist Simon Angell and drummer Robbie Kuster) tour the world in support of two critically-acclaimed and successful albums, including the Polaris Music Prize-winning Close To Paradise.

The album’s title is a nod to both Watson’s attempt to make a more “personal, humble” record—and to the fact that it was recorded almost entirely in his apartment in Montreal. By contrast, both Close to Paradise and especially 2009’s Wooden Arms were recorded over long periods of time, in many different locations around the globe. As Kuster explains, “Pat’s studio environment allowed us to be relaxed and feel like we were in an informal space…our own. That really let us dig in to the writing and the arranging.” The result is an album that is still ripe with the touchstones one has come to expect from Patrick Watson and his collaborators, but permeated with a greater sense of patience, and confidence.

Adventures In Your Own Backyard is preceded by the single for the sweeping, elegant “Into Giants,” which is available to all at www.patrickwatson.net and via the widget below.  Patrick and his band have already lined up shows before the album’s release that will include a headlining appearance at South By Southwest (SXSW) in Austin, Texas in March, and support dates with Andrew Bird in the US this May, with many more dates to follow throughout the world.

Kylie has chosen to mark this incredible milestone with a year of surprises and gifts for her fans.

To kick-start the celebrations, Kylie will be releasing a specially recorded acoustic version of ‘Finer Feelings’ (a Stock and Waterman hit from 1992) available to view from Kylie.com. The release is the first in a series of especially commissioned new recordings of classic Kylie songs, recorded at the legendary Abbey Road Studios. Further tracks will be made available periodically throughout the year. The songs Kylie has recorded are a surprise and will be revealed on the day they become available.

Kylie will be asking her fans to ‘tweet to unlock’ the video. We will need 25,000 people to tweet #k25fans from 7pm on Wednesday 25th January, before the video will be ‘unlocked’ and available for everyone to view.

Kylie re-entered the studio last year, following the spectacular Aphrodite: Les Folies world tour, and teased fans throughout the process on Twitter with photos from inside the studio. She has been recording with long time collaborators and renowned producers Steve Anderson and Colin Elliot, the amazing Aphrodite Band, four backing vocalists and a 24 piece string orchestra, led by Cliff Masterson.

Seven-time GRAMMY-winning group Coldplay is up for three awards: Best Pop Duo/Group Performance for “Paradise,” and Best Rock Performance and Best Rock Song for “Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall.”

Previously announced performers for the 54th Annual GRAMMY Awards include current GRAMMY nominees Jason Aldean and Kelly Clarkson, Foo Fighters, Bruno Mars, Nicki Minaj, and Taylor Swift. Aldean and Minaj will perform on the GRAMMY telecast for the first time, while Clarkson, Coldplay, Foo Fighters, Mars, McCartney, Rihanna, and Swift are returning to the GRAMMY stage. LL COOL J has hosted “The GRAMMY Nominations Concert Live!! — Countdown To Music’s Biggest Night” since its inception in December 2008, and this is his first time hosting the annual GRAMMY Awards telecast.
