Patrick Watson Confirms Canadian Dates In December

Internationally acclaimed Canadian Indie band Patrick Watson have confirmed three Canadian dates in December including; Vancouver (Dec. 10), Toronto (Dec. 12) and Montreal (Dec. 16).

Having recently played before a crowd of 100,000 at Montreal’s Jazz Festival, Patrick Watson are currently on tour in the U.S., and will head to Europe in November before returning to Canada to treat their fans to 3 shows filled with original songs from their critically acclaimed LP, Wooden Arms including the hit singles “Big Bird in a Small Cage;” and “Machinery of the Heavens,” plus many more from both the past and present.

The Canadian tour dates are:

December 10 - Vogue Theatre, Vancouver, BC
December 12 - Queen Elizabeth Theatre, Toronto, ON
December 16 - Metropolis, Montreal, QC

On November 17th, Patrick Watson will re-release Just Another Ordinary Day. Originally self-released in 2003 in very limited quantities, this was the first recording with all four members of the band. The album was recorded at the time the band was performing regular two-set gigs at the now legendary Café Sarajevo in Montreal. While still noticeably Patrick Watson, the album features some of the band’s most accessible pop-oriented work to date.

Also in stores on November 17th, is the vinyl LP version of Wooden Arms.

Compared to the likes of Rufus Wainwright, Jeff Buckley and Pink Floyd, Patrick Watson are known for blending various musical styles including cabaret pop, classical, and indie rock. Patrick Watson fronts the eclectic four-piece band consisting of fellow members Simon Angell, Robbie Kuster, and Mishka Stein - all of whom have shared the stage with the likes of James Brown, Phillip Glass, Feist and many more. Patrick Watson’s previous album Close To Paradise won the 2007 Polaris Music Prize and their latest LP Wooden Arms was short listed for this year’s prize.
